Dear Marriage Investors,
September always feels like a fresh start, doesn’t it? The kids are back in their routines, the calendar fills up fast, and there’s a crispness in the air that whispers, new season. But here’s what we’ve learned after years of doing this together: when life speeds up, our marriages are usually the first place we start coasting. We don’t mean to. We just get busy loving everyone else and forget to turn toward each other.
So as fall begins, we want to invite you to slow down for just a moment — not for the whole world, just for the person sitting across the dinner table from you.
This Month’s Challenge
Pick one evening this week — put the phones in another room, and ask your spouse a single question: “How is your heart doing lately, really?” Then just listen. No fixing, no problem-solving. Ten quiet minutes of turning toward each other can do more than a dozen date nights squeezed in around a to-do list. Try it once this week, and see what opens up.
A Word to Carry With You
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter 4:8
Deep love isn’t a feeling you wait to arrive — it’s a choice you make, again and again, in the ordinary moments. This season, let’s choose it on purpose.
